第四年(PGY-4)

The outpatient experience, 从PGY-3开始, which includes Psychopharmacology Clinic one afternoon a week, continues uninterrupted in the fourth year. The elective fourth year allows for residents to entertain their particular interests and build special areas of expertise on a very strong, broad-based psychiatric education.

The other half-time is elective for the entire PGY-4 year. We have had residents complete electives in such areas as:

• Group (DBT - Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; SCT - Systems Centered Therapy)
• 家庭治疗
• IPT (Interpersonal Therapy)
• Anxiety/Depression Clinic
• 法医精神病学
• 上瘾
• 经颅磁刺激等
• College student health clinics (SUNY Cortland)
• 研究
• 请联络
• 老年病学

Residents have worked with individual faculty members in areas such as research, specific psychotherapies, 精神药理学, additional experience with ECT, consultation-liaison with the AIDS Clinic, 甚至是针灸. Residents have also arranged extramural electives at places such as the National Institute of Mental Health, 哈佛医学院, and the National Center for Disease Control.

Courses are designed to fine tune residents' psychotherapy and 精神药理学 knowledge.
